The structure of the compass is as follows -: Compass is a device which is developed to know the direction for the travellers in a sea.
It has a magnetized needle that can rotate freely through a point. Its small magnetic needle is enclosed in a small box having a glass at the top.
It has a circular dial with the direction marked on it. Its needle always comes at rest in the north-south direction of the earth. To identify the north pole of the magnetic needle, it is usually pointed in a different colour.
