All the three are water bodies. They are divided on basis of their size and source of water. lakes are standing water bodies that lies on inland basin. there are natural and artificial lakes. They get water from precipitation and overflows of a river. stream is a flowing water body within the channel. they may get dried up in summers due to lack of water. they get water from surface water, groundwater and rainfall. Rivers are large body of flowing water. they origin in mountains and end up in oceans. their sources of water are glaciers of mountains and rainfall.
