stomata are tiny openings present on the lover side of the leaves. they help i the exchange of gases. the opening n closing of stomata is regulated by guard cells. when water flows through guard cells they swell up and the gap increase thus stomatal opening opens. and then later it shrinks because of which gap decreases and stomatal opening closes.
